What's open telemetry?

@sentry_co it is the most adopted open source way of collecting monitoring data (i.e., "telemetry") from applications. 2nd project in CNCF by contributor count, second only to Kubernetes itself.

@kingromstar OpenTelemetry collectors are used more and more with commercial solutions like Amazon, Splunk, SumoLogic et.al. Many people can benefit from a solution such as OTelBin. No matter whether you are on-premises or within a cloud :)

@marcel_sim depends on size of the clients and apps/ops to monitor. But almost every bigger company has nowadays atleast third vendor products with APIs to OpenTelemetry and little scripts ins Open running.
