Can we spark discovery and action without a ton of algorithmic matching?
That’s the one of the bets we’re making with Dayyo.
We’re launching Dayyo, a city guide / daily itinerary builder and one of the big objectives that we have is to be able to inspire people to go out into their cities and experience things they might never otherwise do. So, instead of hyper-personalized feeds, we’ve created a living database of local recommendations, many sourced from other local businesses, plus live events, and all are (almost) randomly served up.
One of the things that inspired us to make Dayyo is that the beauty of a city isn’t just about finding what you already like. It’s stumbling into something you didn’t know you would.
We sometimes joke that Dayyo is like chat roulette for cities, but instead of landing with a stranger, you land in an unforgettable place or experience an unforgettable event.
Does that resonate? And: does Dayyo deliver on that promise?
