Hello hunters, @colemercer, @jasonglaspey and @ubg! It has been quite a ride since 2.0 and as promised, giving an update.
We've added back not just Guest login (try before you sign up), but also added templates, shapes (squares, ellipses, polygons and even freehand vector), copy-paste, search and tons of other additions and changes based on the feedback from our amazing users. Worth to mention that now you can also use Github to log in and few more coming around shortly. And I'm really excited about a number of things in works right now! Lots to see and as always - all ears and eyes for feedback! Thanks a lot ๐๐

Thanks for following up. I just tried it out and here is my quick feedback:
The use of rounded corners and drop shadows immediately makes me think this tool is outdated. Fair or not, if the tools I'm using aren't mirroring the most recent user interface trends, it translates in my head that they're not as good as prettier tools. I would consider using Google's Material Design language and it will at least look modern.
also, I learned to use visual design tools from Adobe, and the tools behave quite differently than with adobe (illustrator/photoshop). It also behaves differently than tools like Omnigraffle. I'm not sure what parts of your user experience I find hard to use, but after 2 minutes I was very frustrated that almost nothing worked the way I expected it to. Also, I'd love to have a pointer select tool that is defaulted to (or have keyboard commands for).
The time it takes to choose a circle when the shape tool is a square feels too long. holding down the button and waiting for the tool tip seemed broken to me. (it worked, just seemed to take too long).
I think having a second inspector panel with options for the currently selected tool, always visible, would be a huge help. either as a sidebar, or a lower tool set below the current one.
i'd also love to have some basic alignment tools.
it's a really interesting start, and i'm definitely going to keep an eye on it. thanks for following up.
@jordansuccar I wish we one could meet every day people and get feedback the way you've given. Massively appreciated, thank you Jordan! ๐โค๏ธ

If you haven't already seen this, check it out: https://www.producthunt.com/tech... They do an excellent job of reducing FTU friction to enable fast access to value. For example:
- no sign up
- instant URL to share
- FTUE provided inside the product, you could do the same on the whiteboard
Good luck!
@cpresc Hi there Chris, thanks for reaching out! Checking them out. Looks cool for simple text editing! For Deekit we have quite a few things planned.
There are different needs for different use-cases which we're tackling one by one. When you regularly use a tool with your team, sign-up, security and collaboration features are needed. Then again for a temporary project or a one-off quick explanation, the easiest no frizz way is best.
Lot's of great hints and ideas, thanks!
