Identify colors and fonts on any website in a single click.
Rather than installing one extension for colors, another for fonts, and then hovering your mouse over every element on the page, you get to see all the colors/fonts used on any website in an instant.
I built DesignDupe as an experiment to test the limits of ClaudeAI.
I started with a simple prompt: “create a chrome extension that will extract all the colors and fonts from a website.”
I downloaded the code, tested it out locally, and it worked immediately!
Then, I began to iterate on the product by asking Claude to add hover effects, copy hex codes to clipboard onClick, fix any error messages that came up, etc. After each response, I would simply copy over the generated code into my repo and test it out.
Within a couple dozen prompts, I was left with something nice and published it to the Chrome Web Store.
Try it out and please leave a review!

Congrats on launching DesignDupe! Love how you pushed the limits of ClaudeAI to create something useful. Just curious - how does it handle complex sites with tons of custom fonts and colors? Looking forward to giving it a spin!
@emilygracethompson Thanks! I'd love for you to try it and let me know how it goes. DesignDupe should be able to handle a large number of fonts/colors and sort them by usage
Hey Musab,
I'm curious about how accurate the color and font detection is, especially for more complex layouts.
Do you have plans to expand this to other browsers like Firefox or Safari?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin Hey, thanks for checking it out! The detection algorithm is pretty simple. It just pulls every color/font from the CSS. The more interesting part is ordering of the colors by usage on the page.
I do have plans to expand it to other browsers in the future if Chrome users enjoy it.
