Disney+ - Disney's new streaming service

Disney+ will launch in the U.S. on Nov. 12, 2019, and will cost $6.99 per month, the company announced — nearly half Netflix’s standard $12.99 plan

They gave a lot of thought to this and I appreciate it. For instance -- For Star Wars and Marvel fans, I assume it's a no-brainer. For non-Stars Wars fans (all both of us) or Marvel fans, it's a non-starter. Then they announced a spate of remakes. Now someone like me is on the fence. Some sound good; others alarming (I'm not the target demo for a High School Musical reboot, but a Father of the Bride remake? No, thanks; Steve Martin's version is perfect). My kid loves Sword in the Stone and he may really, really want to watch the live-action remake. Overall, I'm still unsure $84/year is worth watching 3-4 movies a year so far. So then I look at the originals they have in development. If these will only be available via streaming, well then sign me up, Disney — you had me at Anna Kendrick.

@brennon_denny I find that fascinating... two new live-action series and a new season of Clone Wars — only available to watch through the service — doesn't really move the needle? Admittedly, I don't know much about the fanbase's thoughts, only through a few friends and what they have said.

I have YouTube Premium, Netflix and Amazon Prime active subscriptions (don't ask, please). Yet I had to pay 17€ this weekend to stream Frozen. At this (fair) price, I'm clearly in.

Are there any plans announced to bring ESPN content onto the streaming platform? That could be a game changer.

@rpnickson no. Just a speculation of an ESPN+ add on. They’re in bed too much with cable to split...for now.

Pity they went with the oft used '+' moniker but looks a exciting service.
