Sold! Definitely trying this next time I'm selling something. Just hope I don't have to only sell to friends.

I don't think this disrupts EBay as much as it disrupts Craigslist. I think this Facebook marketplace will be the go to for same day purchases, Whereas EBay will continue to be the go to for hard to find second hand goods

Ruh roh - a marketplace disruption, solving the opaque security concerns of Craigslist? Still, black/gray markets will always serve their purpose - plus, FB can reward and punish based on EdgeRank, where CL is purely first come first serve - and that's a nice alternative / supplementary real estate. @jlax @erictwillis

Tap'n'sell got now a great competitor ;-) way to go FB, it come at the right time and right global marketplace and it give us lots of innovation ;-)

I prefer the anonymity of Craigslist.

Facebook's Next Evolutionary Step

We've been expecting something like that for years... And here it is! I love the fact that this company is able to try to address so many different use cases while always remaining cohesive.

A logical move for Facebook 👌 They talked about it months ago, I am excited to see how it will compete with Craiglist's French competitor "leboncoin" here in france 🤔

This looks like a winner and I'd be way more comfortable with Fb marketplace than craigslist. Craigslist has gotten shadier over the years. @jlax

This is interesting and a great option to get more people buying and selling in online sales through the facebook portal. Well done facebook. Once again they will gather and collate more data which gives them a competitive advantage and possibly even shake the ground for those like eBay in the future
