$20 a month for real double-entry accounting is a fair price. Most small founders just need a clean P&L and balance sheet without paying for a bunch of extras...

Thanks David, that aligns with what I saw.

Flat $20 is what caught my eye. Once a founder has two or three businesses under one login, does that stay $20 total or does it go up per business profile?

No, it is one subscription for multiple profiles. $20/m for annual bill, $25/m for monthly. It supports up to 5 profiles.

How does Fina make double-entry accounting less complicated for non-accountants? Are there founders who don’t even have to deal with debits and credits but an accountant still sees the entire ledger?
Btw, Congratulations and team Fina Business 🎊✌️

 thank you for the wishes.

AI categorization plays a big role in the user flow - when most of transactions are in the right bucket, you just need to bulk posting them to the ledger, basically most of the assignments are already correct.

And you can absolutely just invite your accountant to access your workspace to review your ledger, given it's least amount of work on the system, you can even leave the posting work to your invited accountant too.

Congrats on Fina Business, Shawn! Nice to be launching alongside you today. We're launching Benson too: . Would appreciate a comment or some support if you've got time today. Hope the launch goes well!

Absolutely, thanks for stopping by, :) I'm checking out your product now

Can i manage my personal and business finances in one place? How easy is it to set everything up?

Yes, Rohit. That is the basic setup for most of people - Personal + Business

I would say it is super easy as long as you understand the concept, most of the components come with templates to start with.

For example, this is the most common setup on Fina I have seen so far -

  • Personal finance cares cashflow, budgeting.

  • Business finance cares double-entry accounting, P&L, balance sheet reports.

  • Investment finance cares about real-time holdings value, investment return, etc.

Can you manage the multiple businesses with separate profit and loss reports for each one , or are the reports combined ?

Good question, each business (per profile) has their own CoA, ledger, PL, balance reports.

Optionally, you can combine them in a Fina page if you want.

It's a real multi businesses solution, :)

Shawn, keeping separate business profiles alongside personal finances makes sense for a founder with more than one project. Nice to see the ledger and reports fit into that existing setup. Congrats on Fina Business!

Thanks for your wishes! Yeah, keep entity separate in tracking, but still having chance to report together is the correct design for most founders.

Congrats Shawn! The separate profiles for different businesses caught my eye, especially with bookkeeping and invoices in the same place. Can you share just one business profile with an accountant while keeping the others private?

Yes, we are building this feature per this item on our roadmap, :)

Basically, you should be able to specify the "profile" as scope for any guest invite to access your workspace!

Thanks Shawn! Yes, that’s what I was getting at. Each business needs to stay separate.

quickbooks has TERRIBLE reporting. Plus for small business owners, often times their personal finances are heavily intertwined with their business finances. Bringing them all into one unified system is the best way to get a handle on your money as a small business owner!

This is great, Shawn. Would love to put it in front of my founders.

 Awesome, thank you so much!

Can founders build their own views for tracking runway and monthly expenses?

 Absolutely, thanks for asking!

Fina Pages work like normal documents, within each doc, you can build your own customized blocks to track your own metrics, you can use formula to define them like the way you use in Spreadsheets. It is super flexible.
