I’ve been testing the Freepik video upscaler with both AI-generated videos and old footage from my camera roll, and the results have been impressive.

It runs on Topaz under the hood (the best video upscaler in the market). I’ve used the Topaz desktop app for a while, but having this in the browser is way more convenient—especially when I’m already on Freepik generating AI videos. I also give talks where I show videos, and when you’re blowing up footage on a big screen, quality upscaling makes all the difference.

The 60 FPS option can add a high-speed camera effect to any shot, but you can also upscale to 60 FPS and then slow it down to 50% for instant slow motion. Super handy!

Big kudos to the team! 🚀

@leblancstartup Having Topaz-level upscaling directly in the browser is super convenient, Congrats on the launch.

Super excited to finally launch this! 🎥 We know how important high-quality visuals are, and with the Freepik AI Video Upscaler, we wanted to make video enhancement as simple and powerful as possible. Our goal was to give creators an easy way to upscale videos to 4K, smooth motion, and boost frame rates up to 60 fps—all in just one click!

I've not tried this yet but if it's based on, or even just inspired by Magnific – another tool in the Freepik belt, then this is going to be just fantastic!

Kay Kwak

Oh, if this is possible, can old videos also have their quality improved? This is very innovative and great! I definitely need to try it out.

@kay_arkain Yes, to some extend.

Congrats on launching the Freepik Video Upscaler! As someone who's constantly battling with low-res footage, this is exactly what creatives have been waiting for. The Topaz integration and ability to upscale to 4K at 60fps is seriously impressive. Love that it works with both AI-generated and existing videos - that flexibility is what makes tools actually useful in real workflows.

Just what I needed to take my new product! The 4K resolution and 60 fps upgrade is a total eye-opener, can't wait to try it out in the Freepik AI Suite!

Congratulations on the launch. You really solved a big problem for content creators working with lower-resolution footage. Freepik’s approach seems promising, but I’m curious—how does it handle motion artifacts or heavily compressed videos? Some AI upscalers struggle with preserving fine details in fast-moving scenes.
