Maybe I am not the target audience, but there's no way I would want to spend my time chatting with random strangers or get notifications from them. Especially when there's so many of my real friends I want to catch up with and spend time with.

Are the opening conversations (before the signup modal) real? They seem a little fake to me.

It is unethical to not have an indicator in the UI that you are chatting with an AI character.

I want to try chatting with a "friend," but there's way too much drama for me. How about a chill opening comment like "I just saw the coolest dancer on the subway" or "the croissants from that new bakery are dangerously good. nom nom nom."
I got someone who lost all their money on a single stock, someone who just discovered their partner's dark secret, someone who didn't report some crime in the neighborhood, and more. I don't even want to engage. Each one is like being thrown into the middle of a Mexican soap opera.
Perhaps Friend will be good for people to trauma dump? My friend gave me a lot of grief for pre-ordering this gadget, and I have to say I'm slightly concerned if this is what the digital friends will be like. But I'll try to stay optimistic.
