Are AI dev tools creating a generation of coders who struggle with high-level architecture?
by•
I love how fast AI helps us ship features but I’ve noticed a risky habit creeping into daily workflows. Because it takes two seconds to generate a fix for any error there’s almost zero reason to step back and analyze structural design choices.
It feels like we're spending all our energy making code work in the short term, rather than learning how to architect scalable long-term software.
Have you seen this shift in your team's coding habits or is quick AI patching not a real issue for overall software quality?

i think it imporatan to understand why something broke not just get it working again.
AI makes fixing code faster but it can also make developers skip the deeper thinking The real challenge is knowing when to slow down and understand the architecture
i use ai for speeding things up too. I just try not to skip the thinking part behind the code
