What happens to a Product Hunt Profile after it gets banned?

I was chatting with a few mates about Product Hunt Profiles, and they mentioned people who had built up good profiles, earned kitty points, stayed active, and then suddenly got banned and were back to zero.
Honestly, I feel like if a profile is banned, there should be a clear reason given for it. Otherwise it's pretty confusing for someone who has spent months building their profile.
Has anyone here experienced this? What do you think?

It happend sometimes but dont be panic, you should talk to their support team or email them. They review your account and reactive it
@sansa_grey Yeah, support would definitely be my 1st step too. the frustrating part is not knowing what triggered the ban in the 1st place.
This happened to me too. I had quite a bit of activity on that profile.

I only found out when I tried logging in. There wasn’t much to go on.
@jack_mark8 Yeah, finding out only when you try to log in is pretty frustrating.
I got banned before. I was annoyed at first, but these things happen.

My old profile basically disappeared after the ban. Never figured out what happened to it.

I’d put a lot of time into my PH profile too. Seeing it gone was rough.

I can understand banning accounts when there is serious abuse but the communication around it matters too. A simple notice explaining the rule and next steps could make the process feel much fairer.
