What's your favorite perk of WFH?

byβ€’
Hey, hunters! Many of us work from home or in a hybrid system. If that's your case: what's your favorite perk of working from home? My top reasons: - Wearing comfy clothes πŸ‘” - Avoiding the commute 🚌 - Being able to travel! ✈️ I'm currently in Europe for a month, and that wouldn't have been possible if I worked in-office.

Having no commute, being able to work out as a break, being able to work from different places (I don't live in my home country so travel regularly to see family), eating when I want and what I want (every time I visit an office I'm kinda forced to abide by a lunch at 1 pm or whatever the routine is, regardless if I'm hungry or not with lack of options).

Travelling and avoiding the commute are definitely a big big benefit for me!

The ability to easily shift into more creative mindsets. At home, if I'm working through a tricky problem and need to change things up I can much more easily go for a walk, sit in the back yard, or even kick a soccer ball around or pluck out a tune on the piano. All things that help my brain solve problems better, and all things that were much harder to do in the office. WFH has given me a huge appreciation for how much you can get done well if you're not stuck in a single mental gear all day.

All of the above, plus I really like having the ability to take stretching breaks without feeling like a weirdo, to have snacks from my kitchen and to throw something in the oven for dinner before the last meetings of the day.

- Avoiding commute - Going to the gym when it is least crowded - Working from Beach

- saving time on the commute - ability to still visit the office - when I do go to the office, less people there, because everyone is working from home :D

Saving time from not having to commute is a big one!

- Wearing comfy clothes (how was I working 8h a day in an office with high-waist pants? I really don't know) - Preparing my own food, eating healthier and saving money - Work from anywhere and being able to visit family and friends without using PTO - Being able to distribute my time between work and other activities - Having more time with my partner (also wfh) and my cat - Having my own bathroom

Funnily enough, I actually work more hours when WFH compared to when I was in an office. I find that I'm actually way more productive WFH because I can take care of personal needs (doing laundry, running to the bank, etc.) as they come up rather than having to hold off on everything until the workday ends.

Being able to cut down time commuting, being able to spend more time with the family and being able to exercise during the day are possibly the top 3, although there are definitely a lot.
