What kind of lead magnets worked well for increasing the subscriber count of your newsletter?

In the second half of the year, I wanted to use some kind of lead magnet that I sent to people in exchange for their email address.

My questions are for observing purposes:

Trying a new approach: talk to users before building 😅

I ve launched a few small tools before, but I usually skipped the whole talk to people first step. I d just build, ship, and hope something stuck.

This time, I m trying something different. I started asking around about a pain I kept noticing, SaaS free trials and how hard it is to get meaningful feedback from users.

How do you test your products?

I'm creating a fitness app that uses AI on @Lovable, and I'm also testing it myself.

I use the app daily to check its functions, how it works, and the exercises. If I find something strange or think of something new, I record voice memos with issues, changes, or improvements. I act as both the product manager and a user. Later, I listen to these notes and make the changes.

Settle this debate: should new forum posts get an automatic upvote from the OP?

Have you noticed that when you post to the forum, your posts have 0 upvotes? Wouldn't it make sense that the OP would want to upvote their own content? Asked another way, why post something that isn't worthy of your own upvote?

AI tools I'm using now

I was recently talking with a group of founders, and we went around sharing tools we're using now. Posting my notes for our community here - would love to know what else people are using!

What new job position rise do you see in upcoming years?

LinkedIn officially shared the job titles that started appearing more often, and with the rise of AI, the market is restructuring.

The actual top 10 roles that have seen the biggest rise in listings (in the U.S.) are:

  1. AI engineers Engineers developing and implementing AI models that perform complex tasks

  2. AI consultants and strategists - Helping organisations plan and implement AI technologies to improve operations

  3. New home sales specialists Which sounds like a rebranding or real estate agent

  4. Data annotators Labelling and reviewing data for AI projects

  5. AI/ML researchers Designing new AI models and systems

  6. Healthcare reimbursement specialists Ensuring healthcare providers are getting correct and timely payments

  7. Strategic advisors and independent consultants Which seems like a pretty broad-ranging segment

  8. Advertising sales specialists You re reading a marketing blog, I assume you know this one

  9. Founders Not sure this can be listed as a job title in itself, but LinkedIn s keen to highlight how people are shifting to their own businesses

  10. Sales executives

How to Product Hunt Launch during the weekend

We probably spend less time online during the weekend since we take a break from work and want to enjoy time with family and friends, go out, and relax. Understandably, fewer people are available to support our product over the weekend. Here are a few things that might help: Request follows for the "Notify Me" page well in advance. Use a more private email for notifications instead of a work email, as people are less likely to check work emails over the weekend with work emails, they ll see them probably on Monday. Send two messages to be safe: one a few days before the launch during the workweek and another right on the weekend. Engage with users who have the highest streaks those who open the app daily, even on weekends. They re more likely to support your product. Be active on social media and talk about this launch. Would you add something?
