I ve been reflecting on the global maker landscape lately, particularly around Latin America (LATAM).
On one hand, LATAM s startup ecosystem is booming fintech, B2B SaaS, and incredible builder talent are thriving across the region. On the other hand, when browsing Product Hunt, launches from LATAM-based founders (or communities built around LATAM makers) feel relatively rare compared to regions like North America, Europe, or South Asia.
It made me wonder about the underlying reasons behind this gap:
Personally, I like the idea of "3 strikes" If a task occurs 3 times, everyone should ask themselves "can we automate this?" Worst case, it leads to a more streamlined process, even if we can't automate it 100%.
One challenge I've been thinking about is how to measure whether an AI agent is genuinely reliable.
It's easy to know when a traditional application works correctly because the expected output is usually well defined. AI agents are different they reason, call tools, make decisions, and sometimes produce different outputs for the same task.
Before deploying an agent, how do you decide it's ready for real users?
Do you use benchmark tasks, automated evaluations, human reviewers, production metrics, or something entirely different?
After more than three years of observing this platform (mainly in the forums), I can see which posts have helped you the most. [Yes, I can tell based on their performance.] In addition to updated news from the tech industry, you liked the most:
website roasting and
tagline adjustments/improvements for launch day (mostly from @aaronoleary )
This randomly crossed my mind while working today.
Obviously, this probably depends a lot on the size of the design and development teams and how they work together.
And of course, the more organized a Figma file is before handoff, the better. Flows, states, edge cases, notes all of that makes things easier for developers.
But getting everything perfectly organized takes a fair amount of design time too.
Hi Product Hunt community I m building IdeaConnect.world a global platform connecting founders directly with investors. The idea is simple: Founders publish startup/business opportunities Investors discover fresh opportunities and connect directly Key features: Email-only registration Minimal required data AI-powered startup reports Listings stay active for 21 days, keeping opportunities fresh The goal is to simplify early-stage connections and reduce friction between capital and ideas. I m currently validating the concept and would really value honest feedback: 1. Would you personally use a platform like this?
2. What would make you trust such a platform?
3. What is the best way to get the first active users? Thanks
The most valuable thing you own in the AI age isn't your AI. In my opinion, It's your data model. My 2nd vote would be Sales!
I've been building business software for the last year, and I keep watching companies make the same expensive mistake. They add an AI tool for support. Another for writing. Something for invoices. A notetaker. Each one is genuinely good at its job.
And each one is a silo.
Six months later somebody asks a simple question "what did we actually sell this month, and which of it got collected?" and there's no answer. Not because the data doesn't exist. Because it exists in eight places, in eight shapes, and nothing reconciles.
