I wanted to share a bit of the reality behind solo development, because this past week has been a rough one. I was set to launch my product tomorrow, but due to some personal health issues, I ve had to push it back by two weeks.
Feels like every other product launch now has some kind of AI baked in summarizing, generating, guessing what we want before we want it. I m building with it too, and it s impressive but I keep wondering how often users really come back for it. So here s the question:
Are you actually using AI features in the tools you rely on daily?
Or do they feel more like a cool extra than a core habit? Even better:
Have you seen a product where the AI feels like it belongs like it s genuinely useful and not just a checkbox? Curious what s really sticking and what s just surface-level hype.
Every business I have run had a version of this. A lead who asked a good question and never heard back from me. A client who mentioned something felt off during a slow week, and I told myself I would circle back once things calmed down. Things never calm down enough on their own. The follow-up does not disappear because I forgot about it, it disappears because nothing in my day ever forces it back to the top again.
Curious whether other people running something small have actually solved this, not with more willpower, just structurally. Does anything in your process bring the thing you meant to get back to, back in front of you at the right time, or does it just stay buried until the client brings it up themselves first.
So imo, one of the logical conclusions of AI automation is a universal basic income that fully meets people's needs (let's call that a "full UBI"). If one day, 99% of jobs as we know them were automated, at that point I think the vast majority of people would want a full UBI, which is much higher than what most countries offer today, if they have a UBI at all.
But what I'm wondering is: what is the tipping point? Clearly the current level of automation isn't sufficient to get everyone on board with UBI. But some people have predicted that 50% of jobs could be automated within 20 years: if 50% of jobs went away, would you want a full UBI? What about 70%?
Wanted to know how one account ends up hunting Cloudflare, X Money, and Grok 4.5 in the same week, so I checked the actual hunter credit on each launch instead of guessing.
All three trace back to Chris Messina, PH's all time number 1 hunter. His own bio says it outright, he books calls with companies to hunt their launch for them, there is a literal booking link on his profile. It is not a queue anyone can join, it is a service built on being the most consistent hunter on the platform for years.
Hit a 27 day streak here today. Wanted to look at what those days actually added up to instead of just collecting the badge.

Contributor is still 0 out of 5, same as day one. That one needs the room to like a comment, not just posting it.
Buddy System was stuck at 7 out of 10 for over a week, then ticked up to 8 off a single reply. So it does move, just entirely on the other person's timing, not mine.
