Meet GenieNote – a freeform note-taking app where handwriting, math, and visual thinking come together.
You can write or sketch anything using Apple Pencil (or your finger), and do live calculations with a drag-and-drop calculator built right into the canvas.
Hey everyone! 👋 I’m Leo, the maker of GenieNote.
GenieNote is the successor to my original app, FusionCalc—a drag-and-drop calculator I first launched 15 years ago when the first iPad just came out.
Since then, I’ve used it daily, not just as a developer, but as a power user, which gave me a unique perspective on what really makes a calculator intuitive and useful.
GenieNote takes that core idea and evolves it into something bigger:
A handwriting-based note app where you can write, sketch, calculate, and organize—all on a single, zoomable canvas.
With GenieNote, you can:
• Handwrite naturally with Apple Pencil or your finger
• Use a built-in calculator widget that drops results onto the canvas
• Label your thoughts with sticky notes and customize them visually
• Zoom, pan, and organize ideas freely—no rigid structure required
It’s great for students, creatives, planners, or anyone who thinks with both images and numbers.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and even your wishlist for future features. I’m actively working on updates and want to make this as useful (and delightful) as possible.
Thanks for checking out GenieNote! 🙌
Feel free to ask me anything!
