Google Workspace CLI - CLI for Google Workspace ecosystem built for humans & agents

by
Google Workspace CLI lets humans and AI agents control Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, and more from one CLI. Built from Google’s Discovery Service, it stays up to date automatically and includes 100+ agent skills to automate workflows without the MCP context tax.

The "without the MCP context tax" line caught my eye — that's a real pain point. We have 100+ skills/tools defined across our agent setup too and most of the work isn't adding new ones, it's keeping the existing ones from going stale or contradicting each other.

Curious if anyone else is hitting "skill debt" yet — like tech debt but for agent tooling. You add skills fast, they rot quietly, and one day your agent calls the wrong one because the description drifted. Having these auto-generated from a live API like Discovery Service sounds like it sidesteps that problem entirely.

Awesome tool. Just note that the target audience is developers. You need to create an OAuth consumer key / secret in Google Cloud Console, then authenticate into your Google account from there. Be careful where you store these keys, secrets, and access/refresh tokens.

Giving agents CLI access to Drive, Gmail, Calendar, and Admin is powerful but raises an obvious question: what governs what the agent is actually allowed to do with that access? We built NORNR.com as a spend governance layer where agents request a mandate before taking costly actions, with policy enforcement and signed receipts. Same pattern could apply to any privileged agent action, not just spend.

CLI for humans is a bold claim, most devs barely tolerate it. What’s the learning curve for a non terminal person?
