GitHub Projects - GitHub takes on Trello with new project management tools

😞 I had such high hopes! GitHub Issues have been basically unusable at every company I've been in any way involved with over the past 4 years. It's not because we needed to drag things across columns to update status vs toggling tags. It's because a repo-centric world view doesn't map to the way companies actually schedule and prioritise work. Unless your codebases and team structures are completely silo'd in the most academic implementation of Conway's Law. Would love to move off Trello, but look like it will continue to be the least bad alternative imo.

This update is amazing, Why do they need an annual event to roll out new features?

Most of the documentation and work flow take place with Github. With tons of repositories and gists of codes if help to maintain and build softwares easily and efficiently. It is free of cost to use and is open source too

We've been using Zenhub but Git is better. Github is directly connected to git so that we can pull, push codes directly from the terminal. And I didn't want to develop my personal app for time tracking inside GitHub, so I use TMetric time tracking app as it has integration with GitHub. Except its integration partners are already offering a far superior product.

This is exactly what I was looking for and was paying for with another service provide. Now, with GitHub integration all my project management is in one place. Yes, it looks basic to begin with but we are a small team and this is all we need (for now).

Very primitive, currently. Integration with Issues is 👌. Excited to see the product grow.

Is Github incorporating http://waffle.io into their product line, or is this something separate?

good news. i really like the idea. Even if it's not like Trello, yet, for some smaller projects you don't need nothing more. Also it would be more simple when everything is in one place

When I first saw it I thought the projects are cross-repo, meaning that you can finally have multiple repos share a project (hence the issues, etc.) Looks like that's not the case :(
