New Google Calendar - Google is launching a new look + new features for Calendar

Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Not compact

Will be great if it can have more intuitive recommendations based on past meetings/places.

If there is a Skype meeting or a Zoom call, it would be lovely to have an integration (like what they have for Hangouts) instead of having to paste the link in the description. I understand they are competition, but let's face it, many invites on Google Calendar are also for Skype and Zoom meetings, apart from others.

Pros:

Clear visual formatting, the time zone provision

Cons:

Too much white space, it does not look compact.

I like the new design, nothing too fancy but the bigger grid makes it easier to set new events at overlapping times. Tried to set a reminder for myself to do something, but it took a bit of digging around to find out how to set one. That would be my next biggest wish for GCal.

a calendar is use as long as what you see on it helps you to organize better yourself. With this new look and feel, GCal nailed it!

i Love the new Callender version by google. It’s friendlier, and pretty nice. It’s not perfect yet, but its nice.

Better colors of choice. Similar iPad version.

Better UI, still some of the same account problems.

I'm relieved and pleased to see Google updating some of their core applications. I have committed my young company to the world of G Suite and am responsible for administration and training. I see the updates as xolid improvements - staring with Gmail.

Pros:

Cleaner, contemporary interface

Cons:

Not sure if I like the event editing functionality offered as well as the old just yet.

I've started using the new google calendar for about a year now and I can't imagine living without it.

Pros:

- Clear way of planning your week

- Clear widget for android users

Cons:

- Customization is, to some features, limited. For example: you can't add pictures to an event

In the weekly view, the time slot numbers are too small to read comfortably. The date numbers are unnecessarily HUGE. They distract from the actual calendar contents and lead to unnecessary scrolling.

The UI scheme is very garish. Looks like children went wild with a pack of crayons. The parsing function is much weaker.

So, I've stopped using Google Calendar, after being a user for many years. I now use MineTime, a desktop app which can pull from multiple web calendars, so that I don't have to deal with the horrible, dysfunctional UI. MineTime is also much better at parsing than GCal.

The GCal team really ruined an excellent product with this new version. The Google Calendar forum is full of users complaining about the new version.

I give this version an "F", only because a lower grade isn't available.

Did Google Calendar quietly drop the stupid 28-day limit for alarms or am I crazy? Testing with the web version and it now seems to accept any number of days I want to use when setting an alarm...
