PhotoTime (https://itunes.apple.com/app/id8...) implemented this auto photo search feature for a long time.

Is there a storage limit? Wasn't apparent in the TNW article.

@helencrozier There's no storage limit. You can store an unlimited number of photos and videos for free, but the free tier caps the size per photo or video.

anyone know if photos can be organized manually? I am big on folders for each trip / experience / event. Having a hard time moving to a UI that just shows a dump of photos chronologically.

I had just uploaded all my mobile photos to Flickr a couple of days before the announcement but I thought I would check it out to see what the difference was. The limit on the resolution didn't bother me because most, if not all, my photos over the past year were taken on the iPhone. After all my photos were uploaded, The notifications started popping up whenever a be collage / collection / video was made. I'm amazed at the stuff that it's been generating. While it's scary to know how clever their algorithms are, the output is simply mind blowing. I have short videos to remind me of the trips I've taken. Nicely cut, with a filter and soundtrack added. I'm sold!

Is anyone getting true background uploading on iOS to work? As soon as I close the app, the uploads stop. Is this an iOS issue? Does true background upload work in competitors like Flickr & Dropbox?

@ianmikutel if you are completely close to app, it cancels loading but otherwise it works for me

Love google products!! No doubt about it but they do so much , you are kindda lost! App looks promising beside its loading 5 photos, it took a while:/ but who does not need extra storage:) hopefully the photos i am uploading won't end up my google plus profile😁😁

Just now trying to import photos from iMac using their mac tool. Error on every photo. Seems something broken :-(

Not convinced at all. More and more, google is about google apps (for business) and they just can't deliver as smooth experiences as apple does for my personal life
