Paper Signals by Google - Build-it-yourself objects that you control with your voice.

by

Paper Signals is a Voice Experiment that lets you make little voice controlled objects that track simple things, like weather. You can build any of the example Paper Signals we have on g.co/papersignals or https://smooth.technology/paper-..., or use the repo to make your own Custom Signal.

This is the perfect "weekend project" for families to do with their kids.

Similar to what Google did with cardboard + VR, an affordable way to make new tech accessible to more people.

@rrhoover plot twist: it's Google's plan to dominate print advertising by monopolizing paper and cardboard.

Ive had a couple of primary school classes working on this. Not too complicated, does need a bit of thinking. The visuals on the instructions are great!

I love this. Very smart combination of IoT and Voice! I would push the concept further and allow embedded sensors from the Paper Signal to push data to the cloud. This would allow cool use cases such as "Hey Google, notify me when the temperature is above xx" ...

If you're in NYC, you can get all the parts for this at the tinkersphere.com store on E 5th Street in the East Village (I'm not affiliated with them in any way).
