Hashnode is a place where programmers share knowledge and get appreciated by fellow programmers. We encourage developers to start insightful discussions, and share projects they have created. There are multiple forums to solve your bugs and errors; but none to ask open-ended developer questions, and discuss opinions.
congrats and love the UI!
one question, is it like a mashup between SO, Codepen, coderwall?

I moved my blog from Wordpress to Hashnode a little more than a week ago and I wasn't disappointed. I was looking for something less bloated that would allow me to write my posts using markdown and where I could have a bigger reach. Basically, my Google search was "blogging platform for developers". I was thinking about dev.to initially but they don't allow custom domains so this was the main reason that I picked Hashnode.
After using it for more than a week I think it has what I need to run my blog. They have:
- analytics, and you can integrate other services for this (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.)
- backup in GitHub repo so if you want to move to other platform you have all your posts as markdown
- newsletter integration
- widgets
- pages
- and much more
I think these satisfy the basic needs for my blog and I'm happy to see the team has a fast development pace adding new features quickly.
