We built an app that finds songs matched to your vocal range by humming, no singing required

Hey PH community. We're launching HumMatch on Wednesday and wanted to share the thinking behind it.

Most voice matching apps ask you to sing. The problem is singing is a performance. Your brain is juggling words, memory, nerves. What comes out is almost never your real voice.

Humming is different. No words, no judgment, no audience. Just sound. That is the purest signal your voice can produce, and it is what we use to match you to songs.

Three hums capture two things. Your vocal range, which determines what sits in your wheelhouse. And your vocal timbre, the unique harmonic fingerprint of your voice that makes you sound like you even when you are not trying.

Most apps match on key alone. HumMatch matches on both, so you only get songs that actually fit.
