Seem to have at least doubled their users already this AM. As of 8am EST @kayvz had 8k followers—now sitting over 17k. I'm sure they collected well over 250,000 emails from their beta signup form... this launch could be record-breaking.

Fantastic experience. Already thinking of exclusive + interesting stuff to use it with. Contract signings. Partner meetings for Schooold at their HQs... Lots of possibilities.

@couch @tyhan1 @akkhosh @pandemona @scottbelsky @a_wass @kayvz AMAZING product! the coolest thing that ever happened to me was I was up late at night trying periscope out and I decided to host a founder talk for my app http://bit.ly/SharefloProductHunt and Lennox Lewis was there on the feed. He did one tweet, and a ton of people joined. I'll have to do it again!

Heard a lot about this app, especially the fact that it killed Meerkat. Also, it's got some of the most upvotes I've ever seen on PH! Other than that, I like the idea, and the fact that it beat Meerkat by being better designed, simple, etc... Finally, it is related to Twitter, which kind of feels good since Twitter's been doing bad lately. (Is there any update on embedded Periscopes on Twitter?)

I really like the design and usability of Periscope. As it grows and more people have access, I'm really interested to see how this affects reporting of major/world events. How many people upon hearing "breaking news" will check to see if someone's there on Periscope, before checking other mediums? However on the less positive side, last week I watched 10 minutes of a "Funny or Die" stream and received 142 new followers. Each with a pornographic picture and a link in their bio. Maybe I became super attractive overnight. Maybe. I'm more inclined to believe they have a pretty serious spam problem.

After college Periscope enabled my family and friends to keep us in touch with the "microblogging" our vacations.

Pros:

I am a huge fan of Periscope... I really enjoy the aspect to microblogging while on vacation and sharing with friends.

Cons:

It is a learning curve in some sense but nothing that should prevent you from joining the site.
