I finally registered after two years of lurking around

Hi all. I have been lurking around in these launch threads since approximately 2024 but I never made an account and now I feel rather ashamed considering the amount of time I spent here. I develop my own small apps on the side – none of them is currently launched yet – it's all just experiments in "will this thing work" phase.

The reason why I decided to make an account is a thread about dealing with early feedback where I wanted to comment but couldn't. Guess being a lurker has its limits after all.

I am mostly interested in hearing from people who know something about how one should be thinking while launching their app – when is the right time, how to price their first version, what to look for in order to decide whether an idea should be abandoned or not.
