I'm new to this; I've got three failures under my belt, and I'm trying for a fourth.

I've launched three products in the past four years. The first one got me about twenty users altogether. The second one got me some traction and then I just stopped caring somewhere around month five, which I feel bad about. The third one I killed myself because I realized that what I really did was build something to distract myself from something more difficult at work.

This time I'm deliberately working on a small project — habit tracker for chronically ill individuals using a methodical system that my partner uses manually.

I have been lurking on those forums for a couple of weeks now, before posting anything myself.

If you have had experience with successfully building "smaller on purpose" product instead of an ambitious one, please share how you didn't make it any bigger.
