After spending years using daily online utilities, I got tired of the same frustrating issues: basic PDF tools locked behind $10/mo paywalls, simple converters loaded with intrusive ads, and tools uploading private files to unknown servers.
So I set a goal as a solo maker: Build clean, fast, and privacy-first web & mobile products that solve real friction points for creators, developers, and businesses without squeezing users for subscriptions on basic utility.
I made a massive pivot in my career 2 years ago. For 13 years, I worked in finance and tech eventually managing over $3B in portfolios. For a long time, my ultimate goal was to climb the ladder and become a corporate executive.
But I realized my true passion was hands-on building, so I walked away from the nice salary and security to become a solo founder. Right now, I'm working on making tools for other makers.
I got into building because I wanted to make real things, not just finish tutorials and move on. No CS degree, no team, no budget. Just me, a laptop, and way too many browser tabs open.
I've shipped a property management app, an Android firewall, a few web tools nothing massive, but each one taught me something the internet couldn't.
Still early. Still learning. But building is the only way I know how to do that.

quick story: I've been mass-unemployable for years because of ADHD. couldn't hold jobs, couldn't finish projects, the usual cycle. every productivity app failed me because they all assume you can "just make a list and do it."
so I did something kind of extreme - I got into med school specifically to study neuroscience. currently studying neuroanatomy. wanted to actually understand why my brain works the way it does.

Instead of expecting developers to handle security on their own, RestingOwl provides ready-to-use packages that are easy to use and help avoid common mistakes.
We re starting by aligning with OWASP standards as the first step, and we plan to expand to other security standards over time.
Our first package, OwlAuth, will be released (on April 20th) for npm to make it easy for Node.js developers to get started, and we will continue building more security-focused packages with the community.
