Hello Friends! Angstrom is a passion project for me. When I started building it, I was trying to design a system to solve my own failings as a person. To help me be more effective in my own life. As it progressed it actually got good (IMO). So I decided that I would make it into a solid product. Many evening and weekends have been poured into it. I'm a one-man band. So naturally the product turned out to be for people like me. It's for your personal use, not for your team. A few people that have used it, compare it to a Monday.com for individuals. Monday.com is an amazing product so I can't but be flattered by the comparison. I already have paying customers, which blows my mind. I have to thank the indiehackers.com community for their support / guidance and for being my first customers! More than anything, what I really want from this launch on Product Hunt is feedback. I want to make Angstrom into a great product and the only way to do that is if I get independent critical feedback. Please don't hesitate to ask my anything! Thank you so much! Kelvin

@kelvinangstrom Looks great. I'll take it out for a spin. Congrats for the release. When are the apps expected on mobile?
Kelvin Angstrom
@vladimiroane Thanks Vladimir! Please do. It's a huge relief to release it. At the moment it's a PWA so you can add it to your home screen and it will act like an app. Once I understand what people would really like in the mobile version I'll start on them. I'm looking forward to doing that. I've started on the desktop apps. Windows, Mac and Linux. I'm using the Mac one myself at the moment but there is still quite a bit of work to do.

@kelvinangstrom in the verbiage for the lifetime account, the second line reads "Access to all current functionality". Is this implying that any updates or roadmap items are not going to be available to early adopters on the lifetime plan? That would be an odd and disappointing tactic for a newly launching SAAS. Absolutely loved the onboarding btw.
Marco Valli
@kelvinangstrom Looks like a nice product, even more as it is a solo project...I'm definitely boarding in...can you please explain the "Access to all current functionality" line in the lifetime plan? Sorry, but...it scares me a lot!
Roveek
This thing is actually amazing! The onboarding bot was a lot of fun. Is the onboarding bot custom,or is there a service I could use to get the same thing?
Kelvin Angstrom
Thanks Roveek! Sorry it's completely custom. I wanted to do something interesting rather than just the standard onboarding walkthrough that everyone skips by without actually looking at. The only thing that I wanted to get across with the onboarding were the key concepts rather than telling people how to use the product, which I would hope are fairly self-explanatory.
Matt
@kelvinangstrom would be cool to be able to quit onboarding an revisit it later ;)
Kelvin Angstrom
@malczak did it bother you that much? ;) If it did I will definitely consider building that functionality.
Matt
@kelvinangstrom A bit yes. It is a cool feature but after some time I just wanted to start playing around with the app. I have shared link with a friend and got a similar feedback 'how to skip onboarding'.
Kelvin Angstrom
@malczak Well that settle it then. I'll need to do something about it. Thanks for sharing with your friend!! :) Beyond the onboarding, what did you think of it?
Miguel Alejandro Morales

I think that this app brings to the table a very different alternative in the task management sector, focusing on those who work alone and don't want to get distracted by team-driven features as it happens with tools like Asana and even Trello.

Pros:

Tackles struggles that solopreneurs know well; allows keeping track of the bigger picture through goals; the onboarding bot is genius.

Cons:

Nothing so far.

Tommi Tallgren
Awesome work for a solo founder!
Kelvin Angstrom
@tommi_tallgren Thanks Tommi! It has been a huge amount of fun building it. It's easier than ever for a solo founder to build something. If you have any questions let me know.
Rami M. Amin
Think you need to start with fixing the Twitter link above :)
Kelvin Angstrom
@rmtux :) That was a bit silly of me. Fixed now. Thanks!
Rami M. Amin
@kelvinangstrom Looks really nice! Well done brother. Does it integrate with Evernote, Google Drive, ...?
Kelvin Angstrom
@rmtux Thanks Rami :) It's been a really enjoyable project for me. I haven't made any decisions on integrations yet. I'll see what people want and follow their lead. I can see Google docs being a popular one. But I don't have enough data so far.
Rami M. Amin
@kelvinangstrom Will be glad to help. Think mobile apps should be your next priority now. All the best :)
Len Chu
@kelvinangstrom @rmtux , I agree that mobile apps should be the next priority. Integration with Evernote, GDrive, and NoteJoy would be great though - that way we can link a lot more detail and material to specific tasks, projects and milestones. Perhaps even goals if you write out your "envisaged future" for them and link with photos, videos, etc.
António Almeida
Very nice! Current lifetime offer includes future updates / functions or is ther upsells down the road? Don't have time to check everything and if it fits but I like what I see. As a one man show I feel at home. Congratulations!!
Kelvin Angstrom
@ajoscoa Thanks António! Really good question and something I have had a few emails about today. Which means I did a really bad job explaining it. You will always get all of the functionality that the $49 / year subscribers get. In the future (and this is probably not going to happen), there might be "super premium features" like one-on-one coaching or a real human reviewing your goals with you, that won't be included to lifetime or yearly subscribers. They would separate one-off payments.
António Almeida
@kelvinangstrom few suggestions: - monthly recurring feature or maybe a more flexible way to implement it - disable / enable levels from the backlog. It doesn't make much sense to me having milestones and life goals mixed up with tasks on that kanban. Same for priority.. for me would make sense tasks in kanban and projects in priority. It would be nice to choose. - a calendar of schedule tasks and a timeline would be another nice features. - It would be nice to have some feature to export a data backup Overall you did a fantastic job. Amazing what you did alone. Super kudos to you man! It

This is really cool! I’ve been looking for something that helps organize this type of data. I really like the default hierarchy, it will help people get started quickly especially if they haven’t planned their life out like this before. It would be cool if it had integrations with apps like RescueTime and others that make it super easy to track “life metrics”. It would be nice to have simple habit tracking as well. Like every time I do yoga I just increment a count towards my yearly goal. This is similar to a recurring task I guess but I like the UX of the app Done. I’m someone who found that journaling can sometimes have too much friction and I think the price point (with PH discount) is fine especially with the lifetime plan. I usually don’t pay for things but this was a big enough pain point for me at this point in my life and I’m interested in what you’ll develop in future iterations!
Kelvin Angstrom
@ephemeral_truth Hey Paul! Thank you so much for the feedback. Journalling will be there in about two weeks :) If you enable it in features, it will ask you every day (similar to the "How do you feel" question), if you'd like to write a few words. You'll be able to set a word goal for each day and there will be analytics on it.
Kelvin Angstrom
@ephemeral_truth I like your thoughts on a simple increment for certain types of tasks that have that type of target. Easily done. Also by only adding it to the features page, users who want it can add it without cluttering the interface (which is important to me).

Hi @kelvinangstrom Firstly, congrats on your launch and well done for creating a new approach to time management. I do like your app and feel it solves a problem I have been facing. One question, since you are a one-man operation, how committed are you to the product? I am just a little concerned if buying the lifetime plan that things might stop after some time.
Kelvin Angstrom
@bimbisara_desh Thanks for the best wishes! Glad you like it so far. And how committed am I is a great and very valid question. Let me break it down. This is my first side-project, I haven't jumped between a dozen different ones in the past. One of my "Life goals" is to not have a 9-to-5 and truly work for myself. I would absolutely love to work on Angstrom full-time. Ironically the fact that I do have a job makes this project a much safer bet than a VC backed startup. I don't need to generate $50k per month in order to make payroll (I've been in VC backed startups). If Angstrom only generated a couple of hundred bucks per month I would happily keep at it. Today has changed my opinion on the viability of the project. I may not have very many upvotes compared to the other projects today but sales were amazing :) Not enough to quit work tomorrow but not very far off! It has hit a nerve with some people. I've been blown away by that. Hope that answers your question!
Len Chu
@bimbisara_desh @kelvinangstrom , I saw Angstrom.life mentioned in an FB group discussion, checked out the site and was about 80% sold on the concept right then and there. The onboarding experience - very cool, casual and fun, BTW Kelvin - had me at 100% right then and there.
Bimbisara Desh
@kelvinangstrom Thanks for your reply. I'm with you... wishing you the best success 🙌
Lola Hayes
Ohh this looks like it was taken directly out of my brain. I love it! So excited to try it out!
Kelvin Angstrom
@lolatesla Thanks so much Lola! I promise, I didn't steal it from your brain :)
Lola Hayes
@kelvinangstrom okay here are my notes so far: I'm really looking forward to the app versions so it can alert me to start my routines at the designated time and also keep me focused on the deadlines I set for myself. On the hierarchy page, it would be nice to have the ability to sort goals based on their importance. On the backlog page, I would like to only see tasks. This would force me to break down projects into smaller manageable tasks. Also, it would probably useful to give some guidance on what constitutes a task vs a project vs a milestone, etc. i.e. a task is something you can complete within a day, a project is an accumulation of those tasks and should probably have a deadline in the next few months, a milestone within the next year, etc? I love this so much and it was worth every penny! Definitely one of my favorite products I have come across on Product Hunt so far.
Lola Hayes
@kelvinangstrom p.s. cool name. Did your parents like measuring things?
Kelvin Angstrom
@lolatesla Hahaha! Who doesn't like measuring things??
Kelvin Angstrom
@lolatesla Hey Lola! Great feedback! And I'm so glad that you like it that much... I am going to do all of the items that you suggested above, because they just make sense!
Tommi Tallgren

Great idea to have personal task management for your full life goals

Pros:

Simple to take into use (fun onboarding bot actually), and simple to use!

Cons:

With less features in the beginning (?)
