I'm a big fan of Lofty and its mission. As a real estate investor being able to pool money with others and collect TRUE passive income. I look forward to the new features and advancement of this platform. I have passed this on to many friends and family members interested in Real Estate.

I never would have thought I would be in real estate, but here I am! Lofty makes it easy to grow your real estate portfolio over time. I also never thought I would have a passive income stream. Again, here I am! My rent is paid out daily!

So proud of this team. I mentored Jerry for 3 years many years ago, and then he ended up mentoring both my sons. They both still look up to him so much. He’s like a big brother to them. This is a firm built by some of the most moral and decent people around. On top of that, both Jerry and Max are absolute geniuses. About to toss in another $1000 into Lofty. I just can’t get enough β€” they make buying real estate feel like candy 🍭 🍬

Congrats on the launch @pmdbt ! The idea of fractional investing was pretty popular in Korea a couple years ago. Can you please briefly share any statistics of your real estate properties? Location, resi vs non-resi, average property prices, etc. Also, why would we go down this route vs. investing in a REIT?
Jerry Chu
@the_han_kim Sure thing. There are over 120 properties for you to choose from. All of them are currently in the USA. Most are single-family properties, with two triple-net commercial properties, and over fifteen multi-unit residential properties. The prices of the properties vary greatly based on the type and location, so you have properties in the $2M range while there are smaller single-family houses for less than $100k. The average is closer to $400k-$500k. Lofty is designed for people that want to be more active in their real estate investments by picking their own portfolio and having management power over those assets and how they're operated. REITs are designed for passive investors who just want to have exposure to real estate in their portfolio. It's a great product and frankly a lot of people are better of just investing in REITs. With that said, the entire USA single-family investment market does around $1.5 Trillion dollars in annual transactions. Out of that volume, only 30% are from institutional investors, including REITs. The remaining 70% of that volume are all from smaller landlords, ie mom and pop retail investors, who own a few rentals. These people also own stocks and know what REITs are, but they specifically prefer to invest in and manage their own properties. Lofty is designed for this segment of the real estate market. If the idea of having 100% control over your real estate portfolio and how those assets are operated doesn't appeal to you right away, then you're probably a better fit for REITs, which is totally fine!
