Pretty useful for those who use ChatGPT on a daily basis!

Such a cool tool, @pratyush_r8 and team! I've added the extension to my browser but can't seem to get it to populate / trigger. Any thoughts on what may be wrong? Thanks!
Pratyush Rai
@hugh_lagrotteria Thanks for the note Hugh. :D If you have just installed the extension - try refreshing the webpages. Chrome requires to do that so that the extension can get activated on the page. Please note - currently the extension doesn't work on standard chrome pages (history, bookmarks, extensions manager, etc) and on google docs (plus a few set of websites which dont use text boxes) On most other websites it should work (like on linkedin, twitter, gmail, etc) Let me know if this helps or if the issue persists.

@pratyush_r8 Ah yep, refresh did it. Thank you!

Can you share some of the technical implementation details? For example, how is this using ChatGPT since there's no official API. Or is it actually some other model and you're calling it ChatGPT for convenience? Really curious to know! (Also, in any case, how much does it cost to run this per day/week/month?)
Pratyush Rai
@puneet_kohli great ques. Someone from my team will get back to you on this. CC: @siddsax
Siddhartha Saxena
@puneet_kohli Yup, we are using text Davinci model.
Puneet Kohli
@siddhartha_saxena2 that’s expensive to run if you actually have a lot of users, since this is free, I’m curious how you’re re-couping the costs
Siddhartha Saxena
@puneet_kohli Yup, right now we are mostly experimenting things out :)

Does not work

@f_karamazov Please try again now Finn. There was an outage due to API limits from OpenAI when you dropped this comment. It was functional later.

Could you elaborate a little on data privacy? When I try to add it to chrome, it wants me to accept that you can read and change all of my data on all websites....
Pratyush Rai
@jpdavidpeters Thanks for the note Jan-Philipp. It only reads data when you select a particular text and click Cmd+G. And there it reads data to only copy the text that has been selected (no other text) and put it as a prompt to GPT. We don't touch any other data on the websites (we can't - in such cases where unnecessary data is being taken - Chrome store won't even approve the extension). Plus it also needs to add-in the html element of the Cmd box on any website. Nothing else is being done by the extension in terms of read/write on any website. Hope this clarifies :) Do give a shot.
