Imagine saving 80 hours/month. That’s nearly $3,000 you’d normally get for work instead of mindlessly scrolling. minimalist phone brings a true digital detox to iOS with a clean, blank-screen design. Block addictive apps, remove colourful icons, and get kicked out of your phone when time is up. Reclaim focus, improve well-being, and spend more time offline with people you love. The app is also for people with ADHD.
watching this come together was a good reminder that “simple” is usually the hardest part. a lot of careful design work and iteration behind what you see here.
I know how much work went into the smallest details to get the experience right, specially for the user experience. (+ I had to fix some graphics that @busmark_w_nika made 😊)
the end result feels effortless, which says a lot about the process behind it. Definitely worth checking out!
@busmark_w_nika I’ll defo try this out - my current screen time is astonishing. I’m almost ashamed to share it publicly. As a marketer, I adore how you guys infuse minimalism into your brand and comms. Kudos!
The app should usually decrease your battery usage, but this depends on your device.
If you see increased battery usage, you can go to minimalist phone settings (gear wheel on page with all apps) → In-app time reminder → Precision mode and turn it on.
Of course, if you spend less time on your smartphone, there shouldn't be an increase! :)
This is not an app I will be using as I never felt "addicted" to my phone or spending too much time with it. But I understand this may be very helpful to a lot of people.
It certainly looks nice, but I think some people would prefer a lighter or more colorful theme. Are there such options?
@konrad_sx Thank you so much, Konrad. Of course, it is up to users what their motivation is. The app itself doesn't help if someone rejects the help.

Loved the app—super clean and thoughtful experience so far.
Quick question: on iOS 26, I’m seeing thin white lines along the top and bottom rounded corners of the widget (almost like a system “liquid”/glassy border effect). Is there a way to remove or override that, or is it enforced by the OS widget rendering?
If there’s a recommended workaround (or an iOS setting / widget config), I’d really appreciate it—thanks!
@andrew_lee41 Hey Andrew, not gonna lie, at the time we were designing the interface, iOS was normal, they released liquid glass at the same time we released our app, and our Kickstarter backers were as disappointed as us :D
BUT
Developers are creating a lighter (grey) version of the interface, so hopefully it will be live in a few weeks :)

Useful app. I usually just turn off the internet on my phone and notifications don’t come through 🙂
@mykyta_semenov_ That's also solution! :D thank you for kind comment :)

Very nice. I love how clean and slick it looks . I’ll give this a go as I do tend to get distracted a lot. Can I choose which apps should be blocked and which shouldn’t?

@danny_quesada At the moment, we have only paid version, but offering a trial so people can find out whether the app is a good fit for them.
