This sounds fascinating, @clayton_smith4! Visualizing content in a 3D space is definitely a unique approach. I’m curious about the technology behind the mapping—how did you decide on using 3D versus other data visualization methods? Also, what specific features can users expect in the MVP to help with content discovery? It would be great to understand the underlying algorithms that enable this content grouping. Any plans for expanding the platform beyond news content in the future? Looking forward to seeing how it evolves!
Hey @ezshine

We needed something that would allow us humans to take in relatively massive amounts of information quickly. It was also imperative that in our approach, similar content groups together. With these two constraints, it was these two requirements that drove the visualization we have today

LANDMARKS and METRICS !!
Things exist out in the landscape and we want to surface them. As an example, Associated Press can be represented in the content landscape as a landmark, demarcating where they content tends to land on average. We want to give content creators, events, entities, etc... landmarks to help people contextualize the map at the local scale.
For metrics, we have some coooooool metrics coming out soon^tm. We want people to easily be able to see where new things are happening, how sentiment changes, or understand votes/ratings across the map.
Amazing work, @clayton_smith4! Minimap.ai sounds like a game changer for navigating the overwhelming amount of online content. The use of 3D mapping to visualize content landscapes is refreshing and can definitely enhance how we interact with information. I love that you're putting the power back in the hands of users, allowing them to choose their own path rather than relying solely on algorithms.
It's great to hear about your commitment to improving user experience and the plans for a mobile version—definitely looking forward to that! I can see this being particularly useful for journalists and researchers who need to dissect vast information quickly. Kudos for spending two years building such a robust platform. Excited to see how Minimap.ai evolves! Upvoted! 🚀
