@liveink@rrhoover Thank you Ryan for your comment! What would convince you to buy Mudita Pure? Is there any particular feature that you are missing? Cheers!
Hi, my name is Łukasz Anwajler and I'm the Co-CEO of Mudita, a company behind Mudita Pure. We care about freedom, joy and living in the present moment. Join us in the quest for a spontaneous, positive, and harmonious lifestyle!
Mudita Pure is a premium, distraction-free classic phone with an ultralow SAR antenna. It runs MuditaOS - our in-house baked operating system built on top of FreeRTOS kernel. We chose to design, develop & assemble Mudita Pure in European Union.
Some of the unique features of Mudita Pure:
* Global GSM module - that’s something uncommon in the classic phones market but in this case we decided to go against the mainstream and not to choose the cheapest modem available on the market. We equipped Pure with a global GSM module, certified with FCC, PTCRB, GCF. It’s compatible with AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile is in progress. It runs on 4G/LTE, 3G, and even 2G network (still important for some users).
* E Ink display + frontlight - instead of a standard screen, we went for more eye-friendly solution with analog feel and high specs. (270 PPI)
* Patented antenna - our own research on SAR resulted in patented antenna in the US and EU.
* Loudspeaker - premium sound from Harman
Thank you for all your feedback and backing us on Kickstarter! If you have any questions - shoot. :)
@madebytushar The word ‘mudita’ comes from Pali, a Middle Indo-Aryan language native to the Indian subcontinent and has no counterpart in English. We can describe it as pleasure, that comes from unselfish joy of witnessing the well-being of others. We chose this name because however cliché as it sounds, we’re happy when you’re happy. :)

I was hoping with such a phone, i would never worry about losing it before i saw its price...
Loved the intro video, but recently I have seen this trend of marketing consumer the present,
Earlier every tech company was selling us the future, they are also doing it now, and now new companies are coming to sell the the present, we will soon be getting past.
@jdaniel_richer we use a custom operating system so we control everything what happens inside, thanks to that we make sure your data is not being sold anywhere. There are no cookies etc.
The Mudita Pure seems like a cute and functional device (I live for E-Ink screens in phones) but there are some deal-breaking issues:
1. No WiFi/internet connection means no contacts sync (through Google contacts or your own proprietary system). That’s unfortunately unacceptable in 2019. Say I add someone to my contacts, then my phone gets stolen and I hadn’t had the chance to create a back up. After around 2010 or so, whenever people told me that they wanted me to give them my phone number again because they lost their phone, I really couldn’t take them seriously.
2. Very expensive. I understand that you guys went through a lot of trouble to decrease the SAR, make a custom board, but most consumers (myself included) don’t really care about that.
I’d love to buy a phone like this one for around $100 that does have an Internet connection, at least in order to backup contacts.
@anna_0x Thank you Anna for your comment.
We sync Google Contacts and Calendar via our desktop app, so it should work for you.
Cheers!

@lukasz_anwajler I see, that's an interesting feature, perhaps you should promote it more. But it's still less than ideal. I'd have to connect my phone to the computer every single day, perhaps multiple time per day. And if I'm traveling, I'll need to carry my computer with me to do it (also not ideal).
By the way, is it a two-way sync? So contacts created on the phone get uploaded, as well as those created someplace else downloaded? (Same question for the calendar events)
@anna_0x yes, two-way sync! It's on our "to decide" list if we include syncing via GSM module without the desktop app...

@lukasz_anwajler good to know! I think I’ll wait for version 2.0 though. Hopefully it will be able to connect to the Internet independently! No Web browser needed. Wishing you the best of luck 🍀
