Nepotism Network - Great things start by knowing friend of a friend of a friend

Someone you know knows someone you wish you knew. Nepo Network maps these connections between you and the people you want to reach on X, uncovering potential paths to a warm intro. Explore ranked routes, see who connects each step, draft your ask, and track your outreach. Your network has a surprisingly useful extended family.

You can do great things if you know a friend, who knows a friend who knows a friend

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Ankush, developer of NepoNet.

A month ago we launched here and it finished #1 Product of the Day.

That wasn't luck, and it definitely wasn't cold DMs.

Before launch day we mapped who we needed: hunters, makers with big audiences, founders whose one repost moves a launch. Then we found the people we already knew who knew them.

Every intro came from a friend of a friend, every ask was specific and easy to say yes to. People who had never heard of us showed up because someone they trusted asked them to. It worked, but it took us weeks of scrolling through follower lists, spreadsheets and guessing who knows whom.

So we built the tool we wished we'd had.

Nepotism Network finds the warmest chain of intros from you to anyone on X.

  1. Type any handle and it maps who they follow, who follows you, and the people in between, then ranks the warmest routes and explains every step.

  2. It tells you who to befriend first and why, with hard evidence.

  3. One click reads up on everyone on the route and writes a plan: who to message, when, why they'd help, and drafts for each message. It never sends anything for you, you have the final say on who to get in touch with.

  4. Track who you've asked and what happened to make your lives easier.

  5. Use it from ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Cursor over MCP, your agent gets the same tools you do.

Feel free to try it, type your handle and run your first search.

Somewhere in this Astra...

you and the connection that matters might be just one little push away 👉

Well said! Knowing how to reach the right people through a chain of trust might just be the best advantage there is. Thanks for supporting us on this launch, Zac 🙏

How did Astra change the scope or ambition of what you built?
Astra made me more ambitious about how much of the problem NepoNet could solve. Finding a mutual connection is useful, but the bigger opportunity is helping someone figure out how to actually reach the person they have in mind. With Astra, I could build toward that complete experience: an interactive network map, ranked introduction paths, explanations for each connection, draft introduction requests, and outreach tracking. That meant tackling the network data, routing logic, interface, and deployment as one coherent product. The biggest change was what felt achievable. Features I would have pushed into 'maybe later' became part of the core experience, bringing NepoNet closer to its promise: helping people turn a distant connection into a practical next step.
This is super cool! Reminded me of the “7 degrees of connection,” they say that you can be connected to anyone in the world via 7 degrees. This is quite cool!

Yess! its the same concept. We've noticed 3-4 degrees max on our app till now. Glad you like it

Congrats on the launch! How does Nepotism Network rank the warmest introduction paths?

NepoNet takes into account multiple factors like, followers/following amount, recent engagements, frequency of engagement and so on, and calculates a score from 0-100

This is quite similar to how ELO ranking gets calculated in chess.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Vibhansh, Designer for NepoNet.

While working on this, one thing we were pretty intentional about was that nothing should be sent automatically. NepoNet excels at finding you the right path, understanding who to reach out to, and drafting the ask, but the final message is always yours, as it should be.

A good connection only works when the ask feels personal, not like some automated spam cannon.

The design language of NepoNet follows the same idea. It gives you space to organize your outreach and track your progress, while also helping you find alternatives and draft everything you need without taking the decision away from you.

I’ve always loved forming personalized connection requests, but with cold outreach and trying to personalize every single message, there’s still that hesitation: “What if they don’t notice you? How do you even reach them?”

With NepoNet, we wanted to lift some of that hesitation. It doesn’t try to replace the human part of networking. It just makes getting to that connection a little easier.

how you guys usually approach asking someone for an intro?

give it a try:

It’s fun, it’s useful, and who knows, we might be close friends. :)

This looks so cool!

Thanks, glad you like it !

wot a crazzzyy idea🫡

I knew it, there should be crazzy creative mind when I saw the name of the product. I just searched how I can meet Nikhil Kamath. Absolutely dope product. Congrats :)

Congrats on the launch! 🎉 Such a smart way to turn existing connections into meaningful introductions. Wishing the Nepo Network team a great launch! 🚀

Thank you very much, we really appreciate it.
