Notebag - A keyboard-focused note-taking app that gets out of your way

Notebag is a note taking app you can use entirely from your keyboard. It is built from the ground up to be there when you need it and carefully hidden away when you don't. It brings along amazing features such as note linking, instant preview and an omnibar.

Looks awesome! Clean design and straight to the point.

I wish that Notebag simply used .md files in my hard drive instead of encrypting in a segregated folder. Ad I would like good-old fashioned pulldown menus, multiple windows, and so on. I'm sticking with Typora.

Looks nice. Congrats!

This is pure 🔥 Roam research without the bloat!

Congrats on the launch. Enjoy how simple the product concept is.

This is so similar to the product ive created, markdown and go to page system like this 🤔
Jacob F
@victor_ponamariov You'll see it if it's ever featured on here :) Might have exaggerated the similarity, now that I looked more into it it's actually quite different. But the foundational idea of markdown and go to page system is the same. It was just interesting that we had the same idea during the same time but the implementations differentiated a lot.

@victor_ponamariov Oh I see. There are a couple of open source markdown editors out there so I can see why cloning is easily done. But yeah the ones featured here are most likely not clones. Yes there are many, I see new ones all the time here. Thanks!

And there is a problem, your site says about the trial version ... but when I downloaded the trial version it requires a license
pretzelhands
@gerasim_sergey Hey Sergey, you can find the start trial button next to the "Activate license" button. It seems when the app is in light mode the text color of the activate license button does not change and I'm currently fixing this. Sorry about that!
gerasim_sergey
@_pretzelhands thanks already found ... by the way, while there are problems and questions - how to open multiple windows? - how to change keyboard shortcuts (for example, control option space conflicts with OmniFocus)
pretzelhands
@gerasim_sergey Currently Notebag only supports a single window at a time. As for changing keyboard shortcuts you can bring up the Preferences window by using Command/Ctrl+, -- There is a tab dedicated to changing shortcuts there.

After the trial, I gotta say, this is a half-baked product, I can't believe someone is comparing this to Roam Research, and I can't believe it costs 16.99USD to buy it.

@jarodise1 Hi Jarod. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your experience. If you have more specific feedback please do send me an email at hello@pretzelhands.com - I'd love to hear it.

Good job. But I find this app is built with electron, You better to do something to secure the source code. asar can be extracted.

congratulations on the launch. I love the omnibar approach. IMO, every productivity app needs to have it. I'll start using it when I am able to sync between computers.
