$630 vs $43.75/month: the same video workload, compared with NULX
What would your video bill look like without per-view NULX charges?
Here is a concrete example from the live NULX calculator:
Cloudflare Stream: $630/month
NULX + Cloudflare R2: $43.75/month
That is $586.25 less — approximately 93% lower for the included items in this example.
The workload is the same: 8,000 viewing hours per month, a 500-hour video library, and 40 hours of new uploads per month. Captions are off.
The breakdown matters. Stream is $150 for stored minutes plus $480 for delivery. NULX is $19, including 40 encoding hours, plus an estimated $24.75 for 1,650 GB of R2 storage (source files and renditions). NULX and Cloudflare bill separately.
This is a modeled estimate, not a customer's before-and-after bill or a guaranteed saving. Request operations and tax are extra. Storage size depends on your actual files and renditions. R2 free allowances and billing rounding are not modeled. More uploads, captions, translation, or a different setup can change the result.
The attached recording shows the real calculator. NULX prepares uploaded videos for playback, while your source and playback files stay in your own Cloudflare R2 account.
