Oak is a community-driven guided meditation and breathing exercise app. Our meditations were built from data gathered in-app as beta testers completed their sessions (or ended them early). This led to hundreds of adjustments in pace, tone, and verbiage. We're geeks: Support for pre/post heart rate tracking (and variability) soon.

More stats ... keep up the sounds and customizable aspect .. it is awesome. Maybe some syndicated guided mediations from tara brach if possible?
I've been following the development of Oak through the beta process and as a dedicated user of Insight Timer (643 consecutive days) I can say that if I hadn't gotten rid of my iPhone this would be a go to for personal (without community) meditation. Beautiful product, focused on the right things. Congratulations @kevinrose
Maybe have more of a selection of noises to mediate to.
Pros:
Love the simplicity of the app and the instructional.
Cons:
Wish there was a fire ambient noise.

Over the last couple of months, I have tried to get myself to stick to Headspace but could never convince myself to pay for it, as I find it too expensive. So, I'm really excited to test out a new alternative. So far, it looks great!
Quick feedback: There's a spelling mistake on the 4th app store image ("Keep track of your progress with detailed analytics").

I love Oak for keeping the meditation techniques simple and effective. I find most apps too noisy or expensive. This one strikes the right balance. Makes a i-hate-meditation person like me want to sit down for a daily session. Love everything about Oak.
Pros:
Simple, Effective, Great UI, Free, Love the oak tree concept, Beats the competition hands down
Cons:
Would love to see the app active on screen even if phone goes into sleep mode; missing on Android

I have two favorite mediation apps - Oak and 10% Happier. I love Oak for its simplicity. There are some brief “wisdom” lessons by Alan Watts and then two other options: Breathing and Meditation. Again, simple... and effective. My favorite way to use the app is with the Mediation area where I set up 20 minutes with the background Tibetan Om sound (really awesome) and interval bell in sound of Crystal Bowl (large) sounding every two minutes to bring me back to concentrating on my breath if I’ve been distracted. I end the 20 minutes with the ending bell: Bronze Bowl (Large).
I started this practice using Oak where I did 15 minutes but quickly went to 20 because it was so enjoyable.
I also like the breathing function which reminds me a bit of “heart math” in following the inhales and exhales. Really effective as you can follow the little icon to guide breathing. Helps you stay focused.
I love the little oak tree that grows with each session (or is it by the day) of meditation. It feels productive seeing it grow.
Lastly, I really dig the part in the settings area that tells me my progress AND how many others are meditating or breathing right now. I always check that before I begin my meditation and immediately feel a groovy connection to all of the others out there doing the same thing at the same time.
All in all, meditation has changed my life and this app makes it that much easier to keep the practice strong.
The video visuals and message are exquisitely crafted. Who was the team behind the video production? Just watching the video made a 'non-meditation' person want to give this app a try.

I've been using Oak since the beta testing and love it! When I'm looking for a fast simple unguided meditation, Oak has been my go to.
Pros:Simple and beautifully designed.
Cons:Really hoping for the mantras to release soon!
