Oak is a community-driven guided meditation and breathing exercise app. Our meditations were built from data gathered in-app as beta testers completed their sessions (or ended them early). This led to hundreds of adjustments in pace, tone, and verbiage. We're geeks: Support for pre/post heart rate tracking (and variability) soon.
simple to use meditation and breathing timers, nice chime tones, good introductory guided meditation
Cons:
adding apple watch app

I've downloaded a lot of meditation, breathing, mindfulness apps... but this is the first one where I got to experience the app from a seed idea. Thanks for sharing the process. Will recommend to friends.
Pros:
User interface! But mostly the rain - love the rain :)
Cons:
Can't hate what you love.

Awesome idea. I've been looking for something like Nike+ for meditation, but the apps I found were too expensive for what they do and I end up using playlists on Spotify.
I used Oak yesterday and today. The growing tree is really cool idea, and the illustrations are amazing. A little gamification is always good.
I expected that the sessions will be different, that they will evolve over time, but it looks like it's the same script, it just starts with "Welcome back" after the first time. I suppose if I listen to the same thing every day it will quickly become annoying and I will lose interest in the app.
I don't really get what the value proposition is here... A timer (I have one in my phone) with a single audio file every time (there's hundreds of those on spotify with all kinds of sounds, narration and so on)... So why use Oak?
Oak is brilliant, @kevinrose! Super impressed with Oak's production value and simplicity. Such a pleasure to use.
Creator of Haze, Thunderspace, Windy, Sunny, Away, Flowing and Rainy here. I'd love to discuss an opportunity with you and explore how much alignment there is. I promise I won't waste your time. Please drop me an email at franz taptanium com.
Beautiful app!! Thanks @kevinrose and team. I have tried apps like Headspace, zen, breathe ...etc but not so interesting and too many stuffs in one app. This is interesting and minimalistic approach! Also completed my first 10min meditation today, and felt good. Good work and keep it going!
