Speaking as a regular person who visits websites and shops online, I never understood the point of those “welcome pop-ups”, unless the point is to anger new visitors and make sure they don't come back. When I visit a website for the first time, I usually click a link from somewhere else. When the site loads, I want to see whatever it was I clicked the link for, like a product, or an article. Instead, a pop-up covers my screen and asks me to subscribe to a newsletter for “special offers”. Why on earth would I subscribe to that newsletter, considering I don't even know what kind of products the company sells?? And I don't know yet because instead of letting me discover that, they show me an annoying pop-up on my first visit. I'm honestly surprised to see this use case is the first one you list on your page.
