Paperfold roadmap: current features, what’s coming next, and what I should build first
Paperfold is a desktop cloud storage app built on top of Telegram’s cloud, focused on speed, simplicity, and a clean file-system experience.
Current features (MVP):
Upload and download files directly to Telegram cloud
Folder-based organization with a desktop-first UX
Fast, lightweight app built with Tauri + React
No separate backend or storage costs
What’s coming next:
Smarter file search and indexing
Background uploads and better sync handling
Improved folder operations and large file reliability
Optional encryption and advanced privacy controls
Planned addition:
I’m also working on a Google Photos like experience on top of Paperfold automatic media backup, timeline-based browsing, and fast preview of images and videos, all stored in Telegram cloud.
This is still early and evolving. I’d love feedback on:
Which features matter most for daily use
What would make you switch from traditional cloud storage
Whether a Photos-style experience is something you’d actually use
Happy to answer questions and iterate based on real feedback.
