Hey Product Hunt community, I'm Jonny, the maker of PicLooks Avatars πŸ‘‹ I’m a UI/UX designer, and I made this resource because through my career I’ve spent hours and hours trying to find decent profile pictures to use in my mockups. ❌  Most stock photos are look overly polished. NO NORMAL PERSON uses these sort of photos on apps. ❌  You can’t use actual UGC Because you don’t have the rights from the people in the photos. Playing with Midjourney, I saw a way to solve my problem. Though most people are creating art, or photos that look like professional photography, I found it was just as good at creating the imperfect, realistic photos that real people use as their avatars. The avatars I’ve created: βœ…Β  Are Fully AI-generated. This means you can use them for any purpose. βœ…Β  Look like real people. Not just models. βœ…Β  Are diverse! All ages, genders and ethnicities. Hopefully, these avatars will ⏰ save you time searching, and 🎨 make the people in your designs look more authentic. wow, this app is incredibly useful! I've been looking for something like this for so long. Thank you so much for creating it. I'm curious - are the avatars I see in PicLooks Avatars unique to each user, or can multiple users access the same avatars?

@nancy_autonomous It's a static set of images. If people like this I might create an option to generate personalised avatars in real time – but only if I'm sure the result is going to be better than the real-time generation options that already exist. Currently this takes a bit of time and manual work to do to get a good output. And thanks! πŸ™

@open_love_app I did actually think about adding new categories, like anime style, or linkedin style. Will think about it! Currently it's just static images, no generator.

How do you ensure the diversity of the avatars, and can users customize specific features like age or ethnicity?

@creditdiy I want to take diversity seriously, so there’s an age and ethnicity filter, and a feedback box in the sidebar to let me know if we are missing anyone out that we should add πŸ™
