đ„ Get more points by launching on Alpha Day
Weâre trying something new on Thursday: Alpha Day.
The idea is simple. If this is the first time youâre launching your product anywhere, you can tag it alpha and get a boost to your points (and land on a special leaderboard).
This is for the genuinely fresh stuff. The products that are just getting out into the world. The ones that still need feedback, still have rough edges, and are way more interesting because of it.
Weâre also putting more weight on comments. So if you try an Alpha product and leave a thoughtful comment, it matters more. And if youâre a maker, jumping in and commenting on other Alpha launches can help you too.
Basically: launch something new, try other new things, leave real feedback, and make each otherâs day.
If that sounds like your kind of chaos, get your launch in by tomorrow midnight PST.

Also, is there any chance we could do some kind of special vote at the end of the month or year for all the winners?Maybe even a forum poll: out of all X new Alpha Day winners, which oneâs your favorite? Or some kind of equivalent to March Madness?

We are so new to this and happened to launch on Alpha Day, but still trying to navigate Product Hunt. Would appreciate any feedback whatsoever.
Love the focus on first time launches .It gives builders a reason to ship sooner instead of waiting for everything to be perfect.
@edward_curtis1Â As a perfectionist myself, I think this really forced my team and me to just put it out there. We only recently heard of Product Hunt and had no time to fully prepare, but it's good because it has forced us to get out there and just do it.

I love this, hopefully everyday will be an Alpha Day.
Recently, with big companies launching new features daily, I felt that we daily see Google and Claude in the top, I don't know if I am the only one that it bothers, but it obviously feels like CR7 playing in football school tournament.
While I believe somehow we should have space to allow everyone to compete, and I love discovering Big tech new features. There is probably some solutions to explore, and Alpha Day seems like a great initiative in that direction.
As a feedback, I support that direction, I was planning to launch Prodshort the weekend, but I m considering changing it to Alpha Day :)

@aaronoleary I'm here to give my feedback because we launched and loved Alpha Day.
We are 2nd, we got 500 visits and 20 sign ups, and a ton of valuable feedback.
Yesterday all the products were new discoveries, with Founders sharing their own experience, it pushed me to comment multiple other products and everyone of them answered.
Today, two Top spot are Google and Anthropic, and while I love and respect these companies, they are already famous, everyone already knows about them, and will hear about the feature in every other social media if he is interested anyway.
And we can't interact with any founders, and they are not interacting to take our feedback, so it looses all the authenticity.
While I criticize this part, this is definitely a Love messages toward what Producthunt core is.
Is this something you'll keep doing regularly, or is it just a one time thing?
