Product Forums (p/) - community subreddits for every product

The Product Hunt community is the most curious, helpful, and supportive tech community on the internet. Now the conversation can continue after launch in dedicated sub-forums for every product (e.g. producthunt.com/p/windsurf).

I've always felt this is one of the missing parts since the introduction of Product hub pages. Glad to have played a small part in building this and making it live :)

Super interesting β€” would love the ability to upload images and screenshots to Product Forums!

absolute fan. I just published a monthly update on what the team shipped at @Bucket. ProductΒ Hunt is a place where I enjoy hanging out, and I'm really looking forward to engaging more with the community. keep up your amazing work, ?makers πŸ‘πŸ‘

Congrats! This update seems to be dragging PH back to a more community-driven approach, and it’s awesome.

Congrats on the update. As I mentioned before, it looks neat and way easier to use. No more sifting through other topics when you don't need to, haha. Just a quick suggestion - the 'Start a Thread' button isn't too prominent. Personally, when I was trying to post a thread, it took me a while to find it. Maybe it would be better to place it somewhere more visible, like at the bottom of the forum title or product.?

@henry_habib this is great feedback. Will consider πŸ™

Congrats Rajiv and PH team, the new discussion forum looks refreshing. I have a small question regarding the forum as I have published a couple of posts in general section but the post isn't showing when I sort them by new. Is there any approval process for the post, if yes, is there any TAT for that. Thanks in advance. P.S. All the posts are as per guideline and were not promotional as well. And both the post is visible in my profile > activity section. I can share the link as well if required.

@gamifykaran we've been adhering to our new forum guidelines so some of the posts may not have made it through moderation. We're working on better notifications but if you email hello@ with examples we can give you feedback. https://www.producthunt.com/p/ge...

This gives me a reason to visit PH multiple times every day now. Very excited for the "preddits"
Rajiv Ayyangar
@tavlean hahaha preddits. I like it. Proddits?
Tavlean
@rajiv_ayyangar that's even better
Dave Faliskie
@rajiv_ayyangar The forms are awesome! One addition that would be nice is if the notifications to a comment linked to that comment instead of just the main form, small thing but would make it easier to respond.
Rajiv Ayyangar
@davefaliskie that’s a great piece of feedback.

Is it possible to have a forum for a product that never launched on ProductHunt? (like pre-launch)?
Secondly, if a company have multiple sub-products, will it have a forum for each product?

Mike Kerzhner

@alxrdaΒ Great questions! A forum (p/) is created as soon as a launch draft is created. So if you want a forum for your product, just create a launch draft. The Product Hunt hierarchy is:

  • There are many launches per product.

  • There is one forum per product.

There is no concept of sub-products. Does this answer your questions?

I think it would be great if the forum showed not just individual product forums, but also a combined view of the hottest forums across all products. That way, engagement would definitely increase! Can't wait to see your production. Congrats πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

@kay_arkain It does! The 'All' button takes you to this combined view: https://www.producthunt.com/forums
