Love this new update, sleek and easier to really see what it is I want to see.

SUGGESTION/BUG: When you click another category while you are in a middle of the feed of a category, the feed should scroll to the top, the first product in that category, rather than just changing the products while you are in the same position:

@akshaybharwani great catch!

Really nice update. i like it. The product pages though make it a little harder to understand what the product is about: mostly because the visuals are now in thumbnail vs full preview. i am sure you could improve that. also harder to spot who hunted from the home page

Ryan, have you discussed suggestion to change 'next', 'previous' arrows to product cards? I'm referring to my last email. Picture:

@come_rad love the suggestion but to be honest, it feels a little busy showing cards there. We have related posts in the right column so it's somewhat duplicative. We'll probably remove the next/prev buttons. No one uses them.

@rrhoover > it's somewhat duplicative But the first column is for homepage product, so the two columns have different purpose. When I want to dive deep into some topic, I'd use related products. When I'm just watching "What's new" I'd use right (this happens more often, by the way). Totally up to you, just trying to clarify my suggestion.

I really loved the "old" - 2 months old new homepage when I first saw it. I really liked it even after like a week but I also constantly found myself reflex-clicking the "Tech" menu item so I realised something isn't right after about a week. it didn't bother me much since PH /tech was pinned. Just a bit later haters started to pop up which must have been a tough day for @rrhoover and the Team so I guess they iterated and changed as quickly as they could. I think that the critics were mostly nonsense but because it, at least pointed you into this direction, it was worth it. I just love this new design. I hope you aren't already working on the v4 😜 Bless up! πŸ”‘

I've published more thoughts here. and I seem to be quite an isolated opinion, but as I said during the Invision mockups, the 'compact view' needs work imho. The use of screen realestate just seems really bad in terms of the amount of info fit on a page. Currently I can see minimal info on 4 products on a full window (can't see who posted it any more). Whereas previously I would have been able to see more info on 15+ products, using the same amount of screen realestate: older on left, new on right

Can we get #hashtags enabled in #comments?

Am I the only one who thinks this page takes way too long to fully render? I get that there is a lot of data to load but I wish the basic timeline rendered a lot faster, or at least a placeholder so I knew where to aim my eyes. First world problem, but, maybe because I'm a developer, these sort of things bug me.

@bhalp1 we've been working on speed improvements and it should be fast. It's possible you were visiting the site as we were getting hammered after the launch announcement. Please let me know if it's still feeling sluggish.

The hint text for the search field is "Discover your next favorite thing..." but if a user is typing into a search field they have something specific in mind and are not "discovering"
Ryan Hoover
@jontomato we're making changes to the search, not yet shown. If we get it right, search will also provide a way to browse and discover things you weren't specifically seeking out.

I love it
