Love the new PH!

Ok been using this for about 15 minute now and so far I love it. It feels like a cross between the experiences/feelings from 1.0 + 2.0 = 3.0. Great blend of new and old UX. Thanks to the @ProductHunt team and beta testers for making this happen.

Nice! Love the new stream view! Just curious about the side panel approach for viewing products. Is there a reason to have a ton of whitespace and not center the content? Great work guys!

Awesome. Love the personalization, and the removal of horizontal scroll. @rrhoover You said "it's become clear" that people prefer the vertical feed, wondering if you have some stats to share on how you learned that.
Ryan Hoover
@normal_ppl we had an overwhelming number of people saying they preferred the vertical feed and many users were navigating to /tech, /games, and other category pages which use a vertical feed.

I like this better than the previous version. Thanks :)

Nice update! Much easier to browse the homepage IMHO and I like the visual interest of the large hero/slider though I don't really think showing the "It's more fun with friends" screen is helpful (data! prove me wrong) for promoting sharing... Would rather have something awesome to click on and look at :D I'm going to be armchair jockey PM / Designer and say that there is one thing I would like AND I think it'll make the service more social as well. It's about notifications. When you get a message (Name + X others followed you) or (Name + X others upvoted / commented on Y) and you click it then you are taken to the profile of the person who is listed first (or last, unclear of your sort order). Since they are already grouped in the notification this should be a new view with the grouping/ thread for these things intact. In the instance of a follower, this is the more important as you can see ALL of the people that followed you (and you can follow them back) not just the first person that did + X number of anonymous others... Yes, I know you can solve this problem by clicking into accounts, followers, visually scanning, etc. but I don't do that often enough. In the instance of messages or upvotes then it's less of an issue but comments are tough since the comments from people I follow could / likely to be spread out across the page so having them grouped / highlighted at the top of the product page would be better, then I can engage with friends first and then scroll through all of the other comments. Much love - Rock on!
