Would you read a topic digest newsletter?

by

Hello Product Hunt! We are thinking of spinning up topic specific, weekly digest newsletters that break up the firehose of goodness that is the Product Hunt leaderboard. What topics would you subscribe to? Who would you like to see sponsor these newsletters?

Here is an early prototype of what an AI Agent Digest newsletter might look like: https://gist.github.com/kerzhner/0d165d3958dd1191d91a475881d7f07f

yes, 100%

one thing i would love: a small "pattern of the week" section. not just listing products but calling out what's emerging across them - like "3 products this week let you build agents without touching the API layer"

The prototype looks solid, Mike!

What strikes me most is the potential for cross-pollination between categories - like maybe a monthly "intersection digest" that highlights products sitting at the crossroads of 🔀 AI + design tools or fintech + developer tools.

Would love to see how you handle the curation for topics that don't get daily launches but still have passionate niche audiences.

i think if you give us the option to configure the newsletter by chatting with him, it would be Irresistible

Love this idea.

For topics, I'd personally subscribe to anything around bootstrapped SaaS, founder tools, and people ops and HR tech.

Excited to see where this goes.

I think it's cool idea. I open PH every day to see new products, top products of the day/week/month, but i know that I can miss any cool ones easily. For example, few days ago I saw here product for ecom (creating brand images, videos and so on) but they wasn't the best, I saw them by chance but they were great. And I think, I'd like to subscribe on weekly digest with the best tools that were not selected.

What I really enjoy is reading the top 10 products that succeeded on a particular day.

And as marketing/distribution is also important to make products pop up, I would personally appreciate the top picks of promotion – inspiration for future launches.

The Ad Professor has a good Thursday newsletter with creative campaigns – it is more visual, but I always open it.

Hi Mike, I feel this is an excellent Idea, my topic of interest are the products that are not featured but still came at higher ranks!

Constance Tong

yes, i will definitely subscribe to an ai agent-related newsletter

Yes, 100%. A well-curated topic digest is genuinely useful - the problem with most newsletters is they are either too broad or too self-promotional.

What would make me subscribe: tight curation (not just anything posted), a clear editorial voice, and actually surfacing threads with substance rather than just vote counts.

I think about this with Hello Aria too (our AI assistant, launching on PH April 10th). One thing we try to avoid is information overload - the assistant synthesizes your day and surfaces what matters rather than dumping everything on you. Applied to a newsletter, that philosophy would mean fewer items, higher quality, more editorial judgment.

Topics I would want: launches with genuine traction, honest failure post-mortems, pricing/monetization discussions. What topics are you thinking of covering?

I think I’d read it if it also included reviews and things like that. These days there are just too many products being posted, so I’ve kind of become numb to browsing them. It almost feels a bit stressful.
