Thanks, @mwseibel for Hunting us! @brian_bakerman and I are super excited to share the housing factory we’ve opened up in Oakland to bring more backyard homes (ADUs) to folks across the Bay Area. New California laws have made it much easier to build a home in your backyard to rent out, host your family in, or use as a home office, but it’s still far too expensive and too complicated for most homeowners to do. Rent the Backyard is the easiest way to install a backyard home as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. We make a fixed bid for your project and handle all of the permits with your city, build your backyard home in our factory to minimize disruption, install your unit on a permanent foundation, connect you to utilities (electric, water, sewer), and even help you find your first tenant if you’d like to rent the unit out. We build each backyard home in our factory using a sustainable building material called Cross-Laminated Timber, automating and streamlining our procurement, production, and delivery using custom software. These innovations allow for our units to be higher quality, 40% cheaper, and twice as fast to assemble compared to existing backyard homes. Hey guys great product idea! I definitely see renting out parts of your property becoming more and more 'of a thing'. The house looks nice too, honestly bigger than most condos in downtown Toronto and probably a fraction of the cost. I do know there are quite a few competitors picking up in this space and I wanted to ask, what in your opinion makes you different?
