Tried it last night for the Roast My Life demo. Honestly, it wasted my money; the output wasn't even close to what I could get for free by just having Claude cut the same footage with ffmpeg. Not recommending it.
What video tool do you guys actually use for demo/promo clips? Genuinely curious what's working for other builders.
Small maker update, not a launch post, just a bug I'm glad I caught.
Shipped the achievement unlock celebration (confetti, glow, chime) a couple of weeks ago. Then noticed a user's streak achievements briefly reverted to locked, then quietly re-unlocked themselves. No errors, just quietly wrong.
Turned out unlockAchievements() was firing from three different places (dashboard, roast endpoint, check-in) with no locking, so overlapping writes clobbered each other. Fixed with compare-and-swap instead of a blind overwrite, verified against the real DB, not a mock.
Also shipped real Web Push in the same stretch: one-tap opt-in, daily nudge written in roast my life's own voice from each user's real data, not a generic "come back!" blast.
Launched Roast My Life (an AI accountability coach that roasts your habits) on PH a couple of weeks ago, pure B2C. Between TikTok demos, Reddit/Discord posts, and personal DMs, acquisition is still the hardest part: attention is scarce, and I'm fighting for it one person at a time.
I keep wondering if I'd have moved faster going B2B instead smaller audience, but maybe an easier "in" through direct outreach instead of competing for scroll-stopping content.
For founders who've actually shipped both: was B2B genuinely easier to get real traction with, or does it just trade one hard problem for another?
