I built a browser video editor for tutorials — what features matter most to you?
by•
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on RookieClip, a browser-based video editor focused on tutorial and screen recording videos.
I started building it because many tools I tried were either too complex or too expensive for simple edits. My goal was to create something lightweight that runs directly in the browser.
Right now it supports things like:
• zoom effects for screen recordings
• transitions and text effects
• multi-track timeline editing
• dedicated tracks for videos, images, audio, and text
• drag, resize, and style elements easily
I’m still figuring out what creators actually need most.
For those who create tutorials or demo videos:
What features do you find most important in a video editor?
Would really appreciate your thoughts and feedback.
