Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m the maker of RookieClip. I started building it because I was making tutorial and demo videos and found most tools either too complex or too expensive for simple edits. I wanted something lightweight where you could quickly edit screen recordings and add zoom effects without a complicated setup. So I started experimenting with building a video editor directly in the browser. RookieClip now supports: • zoom effects for screen recordings • transitions and text effects • multi-track timeline editing • dedicated tracks for video, audio, images, and text • drag, resize, and style elements easily The goal is to make creating tutorial and demo videos simple and fast. It’s still evolving, so I’d genuinely love to hear your feedback: What features do you think are most important in a video editor for tutorials or screen recordings? Thanks for checking it out 🙌

Hey Shreya, I used the product. It’s super cool. Simple and straight to the point. The editing experience is easy, and I really love the auto zoom feature. The aspect ratio wasn’t fully maintained flattened by height. Aside from that, I really love this product for quick edits. Feature suggestion: I’d really love to have an option to export in GIF format.

@sivanesh_shanmugam1  Thanks a lot for trying RookieClip and for the kind words! Really glad you liked the simple editing experience and the auto-zoom feature 😊

Also appreciate you pointing out the aspect ratio issue — I’ll look into the height flattening and fix it in an upcoming update.

Exporting to GIF is a great suggestion as well, especially for quick demos and sharing. I’ll add it to the feature roadmap. Thanks again for the helpful feedback!
